Mr. Cooke joined Patron in 2007 with over 35
years of experience in the construction and development industry.
His initial scope of responsibility encompassing regular reviews of
development activities across all investment platforms, assisting
local participants in bringing best practice to their process and
working with the Patron Team and local participants in underwriting
new investments throughout Europe. Mr. Cooke's role has expanded to
encompass relationship building between Patron and the United
Kingdom property development community and the management of United
Kingdom investment opportunities resulting from these
relationships, such as Berkhamsted and Manchester Arena
(MENA).
Immediately prior to joining Patron, Mr. Cooke
was a Board Director and Deputy Chair of AYH plc, a top ten United
Kingdom development and construction consultancy responsible for
over £1.5 billion of developments at any one time. Mr. Cooke was
with AYH for over 16 years during which time he held a range of
posts including head of project management and the commercial
development teams and he was also responsible for the firm's
M&A activity. In addition, Mr. Cooke took personal
responsibility for the delivery of a large range of projects
including office, industrial, hotel, residential, data centres and
retail developments for both commercial developers and end users;
he also held the key client responsibility for clients such as
Blackstone, Microsoft, Airbus and Legal & General, together
with AYH's relationship with a number of regional developers and a
number of major City of London occupiers. Mr. Cooke's career prior
to AYH commenced in the consultancy sector; he then spent in excess
of 12 years in the Middle and Far East during the 1980s and early
1990s as a commercial manager/director for a number of contracting
companies on projects as diverse as hotels in Iraq and Sri Lanka,
military projects in Saudi Arabia, Dubai Airport Expansion and the
Suntec City Project in Singapore.
Mr. Cooke has a HNC in Construction Technology
and Construction Law, is a Freeman of the City of London and is a
member of the Worshipful Company of Joiners and Ceilers. Mr.
Cooke resides in England and is a citizen of the United Kingdom.
